MERRILL CAN NEVER SAY THAT MADI ALWAYS GETS TO DO THINGS FIRST...because as of October 23, 2007 Merrill has experienced something before her older sister! Merrill got BRACES! Unfortunately she was a lot more excited before she got them than after:) Due to Merrill not having enough room in her mouth for her teeth, she got an extra device called a "Hamilton" which helps spread her mouth to allow more room. It is however very hard to eat with and talk with, so please pray that she gets used to it quickly and easily. Dinner last night was not very enjoyable for her to say the least :( However, today she was the star of the class since her teacher informed me that her whole 2nd grade class could not wait for her to get to school with her braces in place, she said it has been quite the topic and they were all very excited to see her new smile!

Merrill....you look GREAT in those braces!! I remember that when I first got my braces I did not like them so much...and then I got used to them VERY quickly! I can't wait to see them in person!!
I will show Brock, Erica and Micah your pictures first thing in the morning (they are sound asleep right now...and I better go get to bed, too!!!)

Looking good! I can see em shine all the way over here in Kyrgyzstan. Our girlies are sleeping too, so will have to show them in the morning.

Merrill I think you look marvelous!!! I had to wear a big bulky retainer when I was in grade school but I had to take it out to eat. I can't tell you how many resturants we had to go back to so we could find that silly thing. The worst time though was when I accidently left it on my lunch tray at school and had to dig in the dumpster to find it. YUCK!! That was gross but at least yours will be attached to your teeth so you won't have to dive in any dumpsters. I hope the eating thing gets better and I hope you and your family will still talk to me now that you know about my little dumpster incident ; )
